Summer Qtr. 2009 is over!

My summer quarter at Gwinnett Tech is OVER! I thought it would be an easy summer.....NOT! It required a lot of thought and creative energy. Great brain exercise! We shot commercial tabletop items with chrome film using the large format camera. We also had Multimedia 1 where we had to create videos using imovie and finally the last Photoshop class for the program. The most exciting part of it all is now I'm at the halfway point of the program.

Here are a couple of my videos from the Multimedia I class.

Color Theory Final Four

Spring quarter has ended....Yeah! It's always so stressful toward the end, but the mad rush is over! My final four theme was the inside of old train cars. The photos were done in HDR (High Dynamic Range) which entails taking at minimum 3+ exposures and then merging them together. This is what I came up with.

Keisha Knight Pulliam Photo Shoot

Recently, I had the awesome opportunity to shoot Keisha Knight Pulliam for the cover of "How We Live" magazine's Spring/Summer 2009 issue. Keisha's natural beauty and ease in front of the camera made her a pleasant person to photograph. I was able to get a number of shots in different areas of her home during my 2 hour slot. It was great finally meeting the young woman I grew up watching on television!

Atlanta Photography Guild Model Shoot

These are some of my shots from a model shoot with the Atlanta Photographers Guild on 05.05.09. It was my first time out shooting with them and I plan to go again soon. It was a good time with a good group of people.

Pinhole Camera (Fall Quarter 2008)

I had to build a pinhole camera for my Camera Skills class. Pinhole is "old skool", "vintage". That project gave me an even greater appreciation for Photography. It's amazing how much it has evolved!

Final Four (Fall Quarter 2008)

It's been way too long since I did any blogging. I really haven't had much time lately. Actually, I don't really have the time now. But anyway....I wanted to upload pictures I took during my 1st quarter at Gwinnett Tech. My final four pictures for the quarter were taken at the Historic Oakland Cemetery in Atlanta, GA. It's worth a visit if you are ever in the area. I'll be scanning more of my pictures to keep you updated with my work. More to come!

I Got Soul Music Conference - Dallas, TX

I attended the "I Got Soul" Music Conference in Dallas June 13-16, 2008 and it was worth the trip. This was their 2nd annual conference and I think they are on to something. Soul music is definitely on the rise again and soul was what we got all weekend long. An added bonus for the artists was the City Arts Festival the same weekend. Some of the artists played both events. The panel sessions at the I Got Soul Conference were informative and the music was great! Here are a few shots from the event.
